TRAVEL DEPOSIT POLICY EFFECTIVE APRIL 1ST //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
At NWHCM, one of our largest expenses occur when we purchase plane tickets for our travelers. We appreciate our short-term mission travelers and the sacrifices they make to serve Him in our beloved Haiti, and we consider it a true joy to serve your traveling needs!
That said, we have a need to update our travel deposit policy. Ticket prices can vary from $700- $1,100 during any given time, depending on your departure city. In the past we have required only a $500 deposit and covered the rest of the plane ticket costs in good faith. This is a process we need to change to streamline purchasing of tickets. Here’s our new travel deposit policy, which will take effect on April 1st, 2013:
The first deposit of $500 is expected within 30 days of your application acceptance. This will secure your spot on the team. At the time of your deposit, we will notify you of current plane ticket prices from your departure city.
A second deposit equal to the amount of the estimated ticket cost will be due before NWHCM will be able to secure your plane ticket. Please note: The longer we wait to purchase plane tickets, the greater the potential your trip cost will increase.
a. For example, if we receive your first deposit of $500 and the ticket for your trip costs $850, your second deposit will be $350.
b. We understand that many of our travelers fundraise for their mission trips to Haiti. We can also wait to purchase your ticket until you have raised enough funds to cover the plane ticket.
If you have signed up for a trip less than 45 days from the departure date, a $1,000 deposit or cost of the elevated ticket is required immediately, whichever is greater. So if your ticket is $1,200 then a deposit of $1,200 will be required to secure your plane ticket for your trip.
- ALL remaining trip balances are due 30 days prior to departure.
Please contact email@example.com if you have any questions or concerns about this new policy. We appreciate your understanding and support as we transition into this new process.
